The perfect backpack for the grey man
The Downtown looks like a regular urban backpack, which is just one of its many advantages. It allows the wearer to blend into a crowd, facilitating observation or tactical operations among people. Designed for concealed carry, it is intentionally low-profile to avoid drawing attention. It can hold a ballistic plate, ammunition, and a weapon while providing quick access to them. And still, it looks just like any ordinary city backpack.
A backpack full of surprises
From the outside, the Downtown doesn’t stand out in a crowd. Its colors are subdued, and its design appears simple and quite standard. Due to the backpack’s intended use, it lacks MOLLE/PALS webbing or other visible tactical features. On the front top, there is an eyeglass pocket, and beneath it, another flat pocket with a removable panel where service or police badges can be attached with a hook & loop. On the sides of the backpack are two narrow pockets with organizers for small items.
Portable arsenal, portable armor
The main compartment of the backpack zips open along its entire length. Both sides are lined with a soft hook & loop, allowing for interior customization, including the ability to attach inserts from the VIS (Versatile Insert System) and safely carry ammunition and other gear. Moreover, the main compartment includes a designated area for a ballistic plate. In strictly civilian applications, this can just as well carry a small laptop. The Downtown also features a hidden back pocket lined with a soft hook & loop. Designed for quick access, this pocket is intended for carrying a weapon in a Pistol Holder Insert or similar holster. The backpack’s straps have quick-release buckles, so in a threat scenario, a single tug can release a strap, allowing for a swift movement to unzip the hidden pocket and access the weapon. If a ballistic plate is installed in the backpack, wearing it in front instead of the back can provide a protective function.
