The front of the Ratel Mk2 backpack has two pockets. The top pocket is slightly smaller with a hook & loop panel on the outer wall, while the larger, more rectangular bottom pocket includes a built-in organizer for pens, documents, maps, etc. The main compartment is spacious and has space for a hydration bladder (e.g., camelbak).
Three rows of MOLLE/PALS compatible webbing are present on the front and sides of the Ratel Mk2. This allows for the expansion of the backpack with additional side pockets or the attachment of items such as a first aid kit or gloves on a carabiner to the front. Side compression straps adjust the backpack's dimensions to its packing level and can also be used to carry items like a sleeping pad. The front pocket of the backpack features a hook & loop strip for personalization or unit identification.
