An upgraded version of the iconic Patriot Fleece – lighter and modern
For those who appreciate quality but aren’t fans of old-school heavy hoodies. After years of field use and trust, the beloved Patriot Fleece gets a modern update. The Patriot Mk2 features an improved cut and design tailored to today’s needs. It’s made from Hybrid Fleece fabric (340 g/m²), which reduces weight and improves breathability while maintaining a warmth level similar to the original version. Unnecessary features were removed, and a few clever upgrades were added.
Is the new model warmer than the previous one?
No – but it offers similar thermal performance at noticeably lower weight, with better breathability, making it more versatile and comfortable for everyday use.
Lightweight and warm at the same time
The Hybrid Fleece used in the Mk2 consists of two layers with distinct properties:
- the outer side resembles traditional fleece,
- the inner side uses grid fleece, well-known from our Alpha Hoodie and Alpha Tactical models.
This material features a fine checkered structure composed of raised fleece squares with thinner channels in between. This design reduces weight and increases breathability while still providing warmth. For improved thermoregulation, the jacket features zippered underarm vents.
Is this fleece suitable for high-intensity activity?
Yes – the grid fleece interior and underarm ventilation system make it ideal for long hikes, training sessions, or work in variable temperatures.
Improved fit and practical pockets
The Patriot Mk2 includes seven well-placed pockets: two chest pockets and two new hip-level pockets offer more freedom for organizing gear and resting your hands. It also features two shoulder pockets and one internal pocket. Based on user feedback, we removed the old kidney-level back pocket (the so-called poacher’s pocket) and the small forearm pocket.
Tactical apparel should be both functional and comfortable. That’s why we modernized not only the cut of the fleece but also the design of the hood. The Patriot Mk2 fits closer to the body without restricting movement. Another upgrade includes laser-cut hook-and-loop panels on the shoulders with pen slots built in.
Is the new pocket layout actually more practical?
Yes – having more pocket variety and access in the front improves ergonomics and comfort, while removing the back pocket increases comfort when wearing a backpack or vest.
